Heaven

President Kimball taught, “Heaven is a place but also a condition; it is home and family. It is understanding and kindness. It is interdependence and selfless activity. It is quiet, sane living; personal sacrifice, genuine hospitality, wholesome concern for others. It is living the commandments of God without ostentation or hypocrisy. It is selflessness. It is all about us. We need only to be able to recognize it as we find it and enjoy it.”

I found this quote this morning and it touched my heart. In the hustle and bustle of life it’s so easy to misinterpret these things, or at least not realize them for what they really are. The part where it says "it is personal sacrifice, genuine hospitality, and wholesome concern for others" really hit me hard. As you read this, there may be a different part that stands out to you depending on the spiritual place you are currently in. I wanted to share this quote because I know, for me, I can use as many reminders as I can get, to remind myself that in the process of "getting to heaven" we are actually experiencing heaven "on our way." There are so many things in our lives to be so grateful for, things that remind us this life is for our happiness. We have so many things that can make us happy. My goal is try and focus on having those heavenly experiences and recognizing them when they come. To thank Heavenly Father for blessing me with so much, even when I do not deserve them. He loves us, he wants us to be as happy as we will allow ourselves to be. So let’s be thankful, humble, and happy! I love you! Have a great Sunday. (this picture is so sweet)
