Thanksgiving!

we had a really great thanksgiving this year! We had delicious food, went through the Black Friday Adds and planned out our attack! lol Alissa spent the night at our house and we made christmas chocolates and tried everything to stay awake. We made our way to way too many stores and at the end of the day, we were fortunate enough to have found everything on our list! We are totally done with the christmas shopping and can now relax for the next month and enjoy the holidays! I am so excited for christmas! In a few weeks we will be having our Ugly Christmas Sweater Party and I am having the hardest time finding christmas sweaters at the DI! lol I thought for sure there would be a few out there. Maybe someone had the idea first and went and bought em all up.

Anyway, I had an interesting thought today, while at church. Somemone had made the comment that they were out shopping for a nativity scene for their yard and all they found were santa, snowman, reindeer, and the Grinch! It made me sad because the whole reason for the Christmas holiday is being forgotten. We are so busy worrying about what gifts and parties and traveling and so forth. So here is something to think about while you head into December... The gift of Christmas isn't wrapped up in presents or parties. The gift of Christmas is Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father, the Son of God. As you follow Him, you put people first. You may spend less time in lines and more time serving others. You may spend less money on - and more time with - the people you love. You may lose yourself and you may find everything else that matters.
